Compared to the previous DeWalt 849 scrubber, the DWP849X has improved ergonomics and control, a more powerful motor, and is lighter. The variable speed dial delivers 0-600 / 0-3,500 RPM, giving users the power and speed needed for tough applications. The DWP849X weighs only 6.5 kilograms, but has a 12 amp engine (the DW849 contains an 8 amp engine).
The DWP849X includes a (CFS) Controlled Finishing System with soft start to give users greater control over speed and finish quality. In addition to the traditional straight-sided grip, the DWP849X comes with a three-position bale grip for multiple gripping options. It also offers an ergonomically sculpted rear grip with a rubber cap, as well as a non-marring rubber gear cover that helps reduce the chance of finishing scratches or scrapes. The ergonomic two-finger trigger helps reduce user fatigue by accommodating various finger positions for professionals who use the tool for long periods of time.
